Surburb and Conurbanation

Surburb, coined by neurostar about 5 years ago, is a noun to describe communities and neighborhoods which boundaries are blurred due to (growth) development, usually dense residential, which become indistinguishable. Virtual overlapping may occur by blending of developments. Making a mega-community or division at any location, joined or not joined. Not the same as suburb.

Conurbanation, describes much the same except it involves more administration authority for its basis.

Exurb, is much the same as above, but relies on being typified  as an outlying or fringe development which is typically associated with it, but is not urban.

There could be tension on term application and usage.
