Outlasts the universe !

A Story by neurostar burns

Presently, most sciences says the universe is about 14 billion years old.
But wait. There is a story of a particle that is measured in the trillions of years.
It may have even been around at the inception of our universe.  It may not have been detected then and has not been detected since. Such an ultra rare occurrence. It may be calculated as an occurrence may be only once in 10 to the 23rd power years. That is 10 and 23 zeros. Quite different from just billions. So, not yet. That is a long, long decay.
Some scientists say it may be even more fundamental than the Higgs boson.
So this is said of the neutrino  (we are just now getting acquainted with neutrinos). More specifically, the neutrinoless double beta decay. Many international scientists are working to bring resolution. It will take a much bigger scale than LIGO and the dark matter search.
The first glimpse may have been in 2001 at the Gran Sasso observatory in Italy.
One, who is waiting for the neutrinoless double beta decay is Werner Rodejohann of the Max Planck Institute for Nuclear Physics. Two antineutrinos have to cancel out each other from a neutrino nucleus. To enhance this science endeavor, two more sites are being built in New Mexico and in Japan. These could parallel similar searches at CERN.
There are multiple papers of different sources addressing this aging topic.
