END TIME OF UNIVERSE-SET?A Story by neurostar burnsThe last wink out is set? According to a paper of 2017, published Feb. 2018 in "Physical Review D", a team lead by Anders Andreassen of Harvard University have assessed an end time of the universe working through the Standard Model [SM]. Playing out interactions to the logical end of forces and particles they reach an end point. If the lifetime is finite and the universe time in infinite, it will be, according to them, an expanding bubble of negative energy, perhaps already in existence and motion, that sweeps through the universe bringing all to an end. That is calculated to be 10 x 139[superscript] years, plus or minus some. The current universe is about 10x9th power years old. It likely could derive from a Higgs Boson or field energies which stabilizes at a lower level(s). It may well involve an adjust of energy levels, as in false vacuum falling to the true vacuum status. This of course would be in stark contrast with theories that say the universe would continue on as a freeze expanse or heat death. Negative energy is associated with an open universe, negative curvature, eternally expanding. (A similar paper on the topic can be found: arxiv.org 1506.04065.) Could we now detect a wall of negative energy traveling at the speed of light from afar? Some past theories allow that within the bubble a kernel of another cosmos may form. A paper by Stephen Hawking and Hartle in 2012 explored the possibility of negative energy. Recent work 2017 by Catherine Heymans at U. Edinburg in UK allows for crossover of density to below -1 which would result in negative energy and rip of universe. A study released in Aug. 2018, Arxiv.org,1808.06623, by K.Dutta, Ruchika, A. Roy claim observable evidence is available in crossover of energy density to -1 or greater in their paper, "Negative Cosmological Constant with Cosmological Data". Some of it citing prior work by Zhao Gong-Bo and also Yuting Wang.
