Lambda is not the Cosmological Constant

Lambda is not the Cosmological Constant

A Story by neurostar burns

Designation is not matched by observation.

It is written that A. Einstein in his day worked in the cosmological constant as a provisional after thought. Lambda was used to measure the force, as the cosmological constant was deemed a check to prevent implosion of the cosmos and not let it endlessly expand or dissipate. To keep the universe in a stable state. This situation was also worked on by Alexander Friedmann, ca. 1923.

There is lack of consistency. Presently, observations continue to illustrate the universe is subject to unchecked expansion, so far. Not what was intended by the entry of the cosmological constant. Lambda is evincing it is untethered. This primarily became evident with the discovery and measuring of what is dubbed 'dark energy'. Plus it is measured that the other content of the cosmos is too small by volume to effect another aggregation.

This scenario is not conducive for evincing a balanced, stable activity of stable energy expenditure as was intended. (By 1918, Einstein modified his G=T to G-^=T). To many, there seems to be nothing that will check the expansion. It outspeeds and thus thins out other developments in the universe that may slow it, like gravity, dark matter. It likely that radiation and gross matter will not be dominant in the future cosmos. Another example is with this energy, the universe becomes more flattened as it stretches out, powered not by Einstein's calculated cosmological constant but rather lambda and empty space which are billions of years old. The bigger influences' roles recede. The COBE satellite in early 2000's registered an observation that indicates the equilibrium in the cosmos between matter and energy shows matter's presence is not enough to have a contraction of the universe, therefore the cosmos is destined to experience ongoing expansion.

In recent science calculations, it was said that since the event of the (hot) inflation, the cosmos expanded. It was calculated that scientists should be able to gauge the cosmos expansion as from that time as slowing down. Observation in 1997 found that the universe is expanding ever faster.  The scientists say that it is not the same energy as from the beginning. This is believed to be a second expansion driven by another energy, like lambda or dubbed Dark Energy which may derive differently.
It also further needs to be worked out that this is not about just one appearance of one energy force on the cosmos. There are at least two. They apparently do not work in the same manner, and that needs explanation, why there are two at different times and what are their natures. The first usually ascribed is hot inflation which initially expanded the universe, the second is the latter growing dominance of dark energy or lambda which became so some billions of years later after the hot inflation and does not share the same time line. At first sight, it is unlikely they are the same. And if they are the same, why are they treated as different?
