Preserving Memories

nothing much to do

since my phone broke,

flick through a book

forty years out of date,

meditate

about a decent course,

walk around the house

like a wordless pawn,

boil a packet of pasta

from a Morrison’s store,

slice in a few button

mushrooms

and a knob of Utterly

Butterly,

shower,

scrubbing my headlong hair

with Schwarzkopf shampoo,

then use the new Colgate

on the old electronic toothbrush,

 

 

and afterwards -

 

 

try and trap a memory

on paper,

preferably one

 

 

with you in it,
