two little birds

i always hated anything locked

up in a cage, so when i was given

two tiny blue Caribbean birds as

a gift, i at once opened the latch,

like it was a Heathrow terminal,

and watched the lovers depart

for cannabis scented air, then

loop the low and long flat together
