Simple Enough

some say my writing’s

shallow,

by that i take it to mean

i don’t write poetic gobbledegook

to try and fool minds

into

thinking me deep,

 

 

i’m losing the eye

jazz.

 

 

now,

did you understand that?

 

 

no need to read 5 times,

it was simple enough.

. i agree with "Bluecloak" ... this piece is superbly written, monsieur ... and i know that your writing is far from shallow ... you express the profoundest of social contradictions in the simplest of words ... all that you write ... especially about prejudices that plague society ... is writing with much depth and substance ...

i like the metapoetic style of this poem. the truth is, in the end, we write for ourselves. who cares if the sheep don't get it. could you expect otherwise?

Being able to write simply and to be easily understood happens to be something I admire. :-) Leave the gobbledegook to the turkeys. :-P
