Holy War

Holy War

A Poem by Nervana Zahran

floating through existence
fleeting time and space
realizing reality is a taxing task
when the glimpse of a soul left inside
threatens to stay behind
with fellow pieces
lost to the past

It’s broken I’m afraid
thousands of fragmented shards
millions of little subconscious minions
slaving to put them back together
but is it enough to reform a god?

sense and essence
reflected in every direction
falling unevenly on every surface
it’s everywhere
waiting for you to suck the light out of it
I dare you to come close
I double dare you to touch it

Spectacular it was
a deity fractured
smashed to smithereens
breakable and indestructible
just the way a celestial should be

O’ I pray for thee
merciful you are
and I pray for you
to bear witness
of the rebirth of power
when fear will no longer be feared
when the divine feminine will be free
