The EnemyA Poem by Nervana Zahran
Your subconscious mind likes to play games,
It creates alternate realities, Stagnant thoughts that refuse to leave, Nightmares that are bittersweet. Just run and don’t look back, You’re being chased by too many things; A tiger, aliens, your own emotions.. Your feelings know no exit, You’re not in control. An apathetic face reflecting the silent screams , Everything you avoid manifests in vivid dreams, You can hide at night but the sun will shine on everything you’ve locked away, Smother you in every way.. Your subconscious mind loves games, A ruthless game that has no rules, If you win, you lose. So keep on running my dear, You’ll soon stumble on all your fears, But if you fall, we’ll catch you.. Yours is not the only monster I’ve seen, I, as well, have a monster in me. © 2020 Nervana ZahranFeatured Review
