Meant To Be

they already call me Mrs.
tell me
i act more like a wife
than a girlfriend
with all my adoreing banter,
and my plans for the future
they say we're adorable
in a lasting way
that couple you knew in high school
that was just
"meant to be together"
they already ask me
when the wedding is
and who my bridesmaids are
as if
I was supposed to have it planned
ask what I'm naming our kids
where we are moving
after high school
telling me that
we will last forever
and ever
but the funny thing is
i already know this
know we're not one of
"THOSE" relationships
the ones that last ten seconds
and they act shocked
when i know the answers
to their questions.

they act surprised
as if i didn't already know
we were meant to be
