Music

its my oasis
in the middle of a desert
my getaway
from reality
the pounding bass
the intricate melody
and enthralling harmony
it wipes away my problems
gives me a new slate
if not perfectly clean,
at least substantially
less dirty
all it takes is a pair of headphones
wrapped over my ears
shutting out the world
filling my mind
with blissful beats
and sinfully amazing lyrics
that's all it takes
to make me not care
about the arguments
or the screaming
forget about the nasty comments
or the rejection
of something i poured my heart into
Music,
its my oasis
my mirage in the desert
Filling me with an overwhelming
sense of calm
making me forget
just making me forget,
forget everything,
that ever caused me pain.

I love to sit with my headphones on and play my music while I work at the computer. Many of my poems have been inspired by music. So many times have I sung Love Story by Taylor Swift to the top of my lungs while writing away, pouring out my heart. Great write! Keep on penning.
