Icarus.

Icarus.

A Poem by Desert Rose
"

been away for a while.

"

Morning Sun,

Rise & Shine,

i heard you say,

To New Beginnings,

i heard you say,

To Change,

i heard you say,

Morning Sun,

with the white flare of your pearls,

that smooth red rim right above,

& the pale rays of your hair,

I feel your light,

Burning the ink of my words..

Sealing my wounds,

Radiating through my rough,

Reflecting on my crystal,

& i wonder, Morning Sun,

this pain of laying my eyes on you long,

does it give me wings

so that i can fly to you,

this pain of holding my hands up high,

does it send you tumbling down,

so that i can grab you,

Morning Sun,

for on that sweet summer day,

you smiled to me,

but also to everyone else.

Morning Sun,

you christened my Prism,

& shone your colors,

Morning Sun,

….Come Closer…

…Take me away…

I like this one. It's light and dark emotion intertwined. Destruction and hope rising anew from the ashes, or at least that is what it said to me, which is a theme I love to see explored. ;) Your voice is so familiar to me. I'm sure I've read you before. Hmm..

Tomorrow is always another day. This piece is filled with a beautiful array of hope. Sometimes we need someones help to get us out of the darkness, and they are our sun. Great work here :)

Thanks Amber! yes, i guess, sometimes, all we need is one word, one tiny spark to set us off..

Thanks Thomas!! :) truly appreciate it!
Makes me feel the repetition of the dawns, each one holds promise but sometimes seems unattainable even when we reach the highest and furthest we can, beautifully done :)

Very beautiful imagery in this. It seems full of love, longing and hope, hope for healing and something more. A very impressive poem. I enjoyed it a lot.

You're very welcome.
a perfect way to start the day ... love me some morning sun, love me some sunrises, they are never ever the same, love me some warmth and love in the knowing that the sun is the giver of life to this solar system ... nice piece ... uplifting whilst hanging on the surface X
