the Carousel RideA Poem by Nessa AurinkoWritten for a Creative Writing class.I’ve
noticed that you live your life in circles, so
you always know where you’re going. this
made we want to try it when
the fair came along. Purple, red, flamingo pink, these are the colours of my carousel horse. Shameful, isn't it? To be twenty atop a
colourful pony. But I'd rather be happy than standing
still. I skipped a page in the book you lent me, in fact I skipped the entire thing. Because I’d rather be running than sitting
still. So I went to the fair instead. This horse makes me dizzy, much like how I feel when I'm with you. So I think I’ll take my colourful pony and ride it forwards instead. © 2011 Nessa AurinkoAuthor's Note
