![]() "a joy that kills"A Story by jena![]() inspired by Kate Chopin![]() A joy that kills, as Kate Chopin American author would say, can be many things. For me, it is a sneaky thing. So sneaky, you don’t even see it sneaking up on you. The feeling of hunger of being starved is both joy and pain to me. Sadly, it means victory. To know you’ve conquered hunger is a powerful feeling. So powerful it becomes dangerous. Dangerous in that you skip so many meals and snacks you can die. This victory can destroy lives. I say lives because the death of one person causes many others at times. The joy I feel when I do not eat can kill me, yet at times, I do not care. Recovery is a long tough road that many peoples stumble and fall, but its important to get back up. To defer this “joy that kills” we must first discover the path to recovery and follow it. © 2015 jena
