Reconciliation Meets Determination

Reconciliation Meets Determination

A Poem by NelliKong

The old me is no more… the new version of myself currently picking up the pieces from all the adversity I’ve endured… they say when it rain it pours… I felt the hurt in my core… begging and praying for salvation because I just can’t take anymore.

The old me meets the new me like two worlds colliding… feels like there’s still pain residing… smiling to make sure my tears are in hiding, but I see growth for me on the other side… so I shed these final tears so I can be free and no longer confined.

The new me forgave the old me with open arms… even though there was no need to apologize because they embrace all of my scars… ever step in the new direction shows that I came far… my cries for help were heard when I wished upon a star. Reconciliation now meets determination… I’m one step closer to solving this life mathematical equation.
