Prescribed Poetry

A Poem by NelliKong

Poetry has ben the best medicine… words get to be reinvented and strike electricity into a light bulb like Edison… no pills can show any comparison, they just distort the words in your brain… delay your pain… chemical imbalances will throw all of your emotions down the drain… pick up the pen with rage… place those written puzzle pieces on the page.

When all else fails, let the ink take place of any pills… no interference to state how you truly feel… the cards that you have can work in your favor even though the shuffle wasn’t smooth and how they were dealt… the pain that’s felt… whether this is therapy or a cry for help… just look at yourself, and let poetry be your holistic way of healing… let the ink bleed the pages, your internal dictionary of life as truth that needs revealing.

I agree
Western medicine is crap chemicals made in a foreign land
This last few weeks I’ve stopped all my chemically made in China vitamins
Decided to just improve my diet buying healthy good food increase meat fish veggies etc
The metaphor meaning behind your poem is great and wise
Poetry heals the writer
Even if no one reads or comments it’s a part of you on paper that you get out of your system
Well done
