Halls of my Heart

Halls of my Heart

A Poem by NelliKong

Many have walked the halls of my heart… but they also tore it apart… they asked for a hall pass to use the restroom, and I did just that… but sadly they decided to never come back… they skip class, roam the halls than sit down and listen… they find breaking my heart funny like a prank now that’ in this distorted position.

To the new students that will soon visit my heart, I have some new classroom rules… ones that will ensure that I do not make myself a fool… use my intuition as a tool… have my heart protected in a glass box like it’s a rare and precious jewel.

From now on, not just anyone will receive a hall pass… so many cracks my heart I will need surgery for a bypass.. as I say goodbye to my past…it’s now time to embrace the next set of students that’ll sit in my class.
