The Past is Never Dead

The Past is Never Dead

A Poem by NelliKong

What’s in the past is never in the past… it always winds up taking me back and forth like whiplash… been doing this speed chase because I see a three digit number on the dash… but yet I can’t let my foot off the gas… if my past wants to take vengeance on tome than I’ll just crash. I tried switching lanes, yielding, or even going through stop signs… but the thing about the past is that it’s kryptonite is passing time… so the past will try to end e in front of the police and deem it a passionate crime… me moving toward a future doesn’t add up to them so they rather give me nine cent because it’s not worth a dime. The past is never dead… instead it’s very much alive… so be careful on the road when you drive.

Flows well. Keeps a good pace and seems to work in conjunction with one another. A good write. Great read.

With love,
