Fading Silhouette

Fading Silhouette

A Poem by NelliKong

This silhouette is getting smaller by the day… it’s not even the color black, but a darker shade of gray… dragging your happiness away on Santa’s sleigh… I tried my hardest to make them stay… but they walked out, put me out like a smoker puts out a cigarette bud in an ashtray.

Fading away out of my life for good… maybeI was just too misunderstood… got lost in the woods… yet still attempting to be the little engine that could… trying to knock on wood… wanting to be “all good”… but to be honest, I don’t know if I should.
