Lies

Lies

A Poem by Mika Haruna

I lie everyday, to everyone close to me

when the teacher ask about the bruises, i say "sports"

when my boyfriend asks where ive been i say "with the girls"

Why do i have to lie?

I hate it so much, never trusting anyone

Never being trusted

My lies grew bigger with every new bruise

Bruises, scars, cuts, from my dad, my mom, and my boyfriend

Its not too late, i tell myself

tell the truth, so the pain will stop

but i cant

When i decide to tell the truth, it is far too late

My dad heard the conversation on the phone

its too late now for anything

truth or lies

its all gone
