Steps

Steps

A Poem by Mika Haruna
"

A Look at the hate percieved by men, and a journey she takes to escape the darkness

"

in a plane surrounded by the earth i rest in silence

with my heart suspended above me.

i need to leave it alone

and go on with my life

this feeling so sweet

so innocent fills me

with dread

what is it like? to live as humans do? to see the light

with eyes unclouded? i will escape this place

to you, and i will never return. i climb

to earth on these steps that once

seemed so daunting, only to find

the doorway blocked by your

hands i try to move past you

but you remain still

there is no escape you tell me with your melodic voice

i cannot stay here i plead with you to let me go on

but you will not let me...

so i stay here at the bottom step, chewing my lip

and waiting for the chance to escape

the heart suspended above me turns black with time

i look with my clouded eyes at your unmoving figure

at the door and i decide to sleep once again.

i lay still as blackness surrounds me, i can still feel

your prescance through my sleep. a love never

given to me becomes forgotten in the dark

i belong here, in the earths belly

I am the hate percieved by the humans of the earth

forever wasting away in my coffin.
