From Darkness to Light

From Darkness to Light

A Poem by Shawn Bowman

Turning my head to face the darkness, despite the memories that are good but otherwise forgotten. I've made a decision to allow some light in... So as I smile a mellow smile and grip to drag open my bedroom drapes with a slight fury of anger, I remember my dream created by a dreamer; me, and decide to leave a fiery blaze to rest upon the shoulders of the old me... An entire past collapsed away from an epiphany I had as an angry little boy from many years ago; and a new enlightened me with a small entity of happiness bursting out onto the scene; a role; and a play I will never have to rehearse; enough to put a mighty smile on my face.
