The Lense of an Eagle's Eye

The Lense of an Eagle's Eye

A Poem by Shawn Bowman

In the lense of an eagle's eye, this nation is far from done. From imperfection here and there, to progression everywhere. The vision of our founding fathers is at a hault. The day every American realizes and stands up towards our faults of corruption. We need to provide influential American heart to the consumers; the newer generations, our children... That will be the day we redeem what we solely started. Freedom is what we laid down on the table, but bravery and American pride is our platter. We have chosen to set that meal aside; a meal that has gone through Earthly hell and back; from the Revolutionary war, to the fruits of labor, and the faulty mistakes of slavery and Native American abuse and neglection. As we bounce our mugs and toast our victories through brawn and through brain; remember we have not yet finished our battles... So, let us rebirth the slightly beating heart from the foundation of the soil we so longing take to the midst of what we take for granite.
