That is all we can do Neal. No matter what the intention, we only publish work on sites such as these to get more of a feel for the reaction of our words, and we learn from them, as well as reading others works. We may not all be seeking out the fame monster, but words need to be shared to be understood, and understanding brings learning and adapting to the forefront of our minds. We're all just a massive classroom of eager pupils, hoping for the occasional A+ :)

I totally agree that words need to be shared and most definitely the feeling of those words need to be shared. (to me) poetry is about the "feel's" the emotional connect the reader has to the content and honestly not as much as what I get from writing it. But mostly this poem is about Just having fun and how terrible I am at reviews lol :)

I find just saying what you felt, no matter if it is the intended subject is most appreciated. After reading some honest reviews, you will begin to see things in your own words and go "oh yeah, I never thought of that" :)

Neal S,
"Reviews" was a delightful reminder of the joy which comes in seeing our shared lives in one another's writing. I often find the commonality of ideas and similar experiences within the words of others; (going both ways.) It is so comforting to know that we are all quite alike....................Bless you. Kathy
You are right. We all write to please ourselves first and in the due course if it pleases many we then of course we get more pleased. I loved the lines " Did it...... too fat."
Yes, Our thought process goes like that.
An interesting thought, nicely executed..
Keep sharing...
It has been my experience that writers tend to either overthink or underthink while reviewing. Everyone has a different writing style which will reflect during their interpretation. Some are like me where we tend to deconstruct subject matter for their content. Others tend to focus on simple mechanics of writing such as grammar and punctuation. Then there are those who barely speak in sentences that give false praise. The only reviewers I frown upon are trolls or rather insulting.
CONCLUSION
Overall, reviewers and writers vary in their thought process. I like this diversity for it helps me improve my writing. Thank you always for sharing!
Reminds me of farting in an elevator with only one other person in it.
You wrote this to get reviews.... you'd pander your own insecurity like that? Good for you. I guess.

Such very true words put in a great poetic way. We have all had these thoughts of doubt and jotting things down. Some poems i jave read on here i find go very very deep. But this is different, its true and straight to the point. Keeping it simple but something we all can relate too......brilliantly written.

Thank you so much for stopping in. Very kind words.
Yes, you said it well, in the end we just write to please. Beautifully written Neal. People think to the writers words come by magically although there's a bit of truth in it but the fact remains sometimes it just not comes with ease.
love the wording in the 4th stanza....in second line i read "whether"---
but yes, we write to please...often the question is....writing to please ourselves or others?

And thank you for taking the time to read it. I imagine its up to the individual. Personally I find enjoyment from the act of writing but much more when the reader emotionally connects to the words. Be it what I intended when I wrote it or whatever interpretation they may get from the work. Thanks again
Yeah, reviews are tough for me too. I sometimes worry that I will say the wrong thing but I guess what you say is true, we just want to share and hope people understand us.
