Mankind the isolated individual

Mankind the isolated individual

A Poem by Myrtice J. Edwards

There are so many theories of mankind’s happiness. What does happiness mean to mankind? For the majority mans ultimate happiness is rooted from personal happiness. Mans freeness and happiness is an existing isolated pleasure that was derived from subliminal messages and media. However, man can only fulfill his vocation as long as he separates his own happiness from others. Subconsciously he seeks pleasure for self. Consciously, he wants pleasure and happiness for all. So, in actuality human life and it’s problems of suffering are irrelevant to him. It is my understanding that happiness requires self sacrifice and courage. It is the selfless service to humanity that stands out the most. There are some who obtain false happiness through social activities and charitable organizations. One must sacrifice himself from within in order to give happiness and devote joy to others welfare.

This definitely makes me think. Are you saying that '...if it is spoken, it is then conscious...?' Maybe it's just me, but I think that if we speak it, we want happiness for ourselves first. Subconsciously, we look to everybody being happy. Again, you really made me think with this one. Good job!
