Unheeded

Unheeded

A Poem by neeyati shah
"

This is a poem about a boy who tries to fit in but remains unnoticed .

"
He was always there
in the shadows
He was like a flower
Trying to bloom in a meadow

Amidst the noise
Even he tried to make a sound
Amidst the crowd
He tried to be found

All he ever wanted was
To be a book on the shelf
But in this world full of giants
He was just a diminutive elf

He was a child
Whose cries were never heard
He was a boy
Who just wanted to be a part of the herd

He was a man
Whose wishes were never learnt
His quest for approval
An aeonian hunt

But a day came ...alone no more
He became one of them
It was the day his lifeless body lay on the floor
But his star shined just as bright as the rest of them

A sad ending to the poetry. In life, people, we do not see. Can live un-notice and with death. Be known. Too late to be seen. Thank you Neeyati for sharing the amazing poetry.

Interesting write, it's dark and deep. I enjoyed reading it a lot. I could identify with the main protagonist and felt sorry for them. Well done

Phenomenal....I can definitely think warm thoughts of the child I lost in light of this poem. I'll always wonder who he or she would have been...would they laugh just like my other boys, if a girl; would she have my husbands curls??? I could drift through all the 'what ifs' for hours.. wonderfully written.

Sad and sadly relevant for this self obsessed age.....

To be alone amongst the masses is the loneliest place of all. And in such moments one may do such objectionable things just to be noticed. In this case, only in death was your protagonist never alone. And that is a life lost on the fringes and no life at all.

A poignant idea expressed simply and with a degree of skill. Keep writing.

This brought such a beautiful sadness to me. I understood this boy so much, suffering when I was younger through this wanting. Your words are a tender dedication to these suffering ones who cry out every day, but too few ever listen.
