A Rainy Day in a ClassroomA Poem by Neeraj V MuraliMy favourite poem <3A free period for us as the teacher was absent, We were making noise which was our natural talent. No one fainéant, No one indolent, We all busy in our own jobs, But somewhere outside the sky sobs. Drops of rain are falling, On the railing. Some girls are near the door and windows, Wound in the magic the rains disclose. But all are not magically wounded, Some are busy in the conversation by which they are bounded. Some are surprisingly tacit, But who knows the real reason, It may also be because of the season. Some are doing their work, But they be careful as overwork may send them berserk. Some are absent, And are missing pleasure’s every fragment. Wait! I am telling you about everyone, But where am I between these merry men. Oh!I am watching everyone’s moves and Writing about it with my own hand. The bell rang, To our feet we all sprang. The period has ended, With it everyone’s joy suspended. I enjoyed it very much, As I closed the pen with a soft touch. © 2014 Neeraj V MuraliReviews
