A Poem by Nebunova
"

judge nicely.

"

Being hard on the self
Is completely unhealthy
When it serves as a detriment
To your personal growth
To such a degree that even the smallest task
May feel like an arduous nightmare
Similar to the way it feels, upon awakening

With cold sweats dripping

Although...

Being hard on the self
Is completely healthy
When you choose to see self criticism
As a compass which serves as a guide

To gravitate your actions towards
Challenging the mind, body, and soul
And going to bed most nights
With the prospect of a promising tomorrow

the challenge

  lies within the balance.

Being hard on the self
Is completely healthy... There' so much depth behind your words! Yeah, once we come to know how to be hard on "self" before getting on to others, we find a very new compass to live a life with gratitude. Nice point of view of your thoughts!

oh ..so appropriate for many things in life... i relate it instantly to the way i was raised and how i attempted to guide my children ... balance is so crucial in all things says i ..and you have stated it succinctly and in a very non-judgmental way .. love the title and its use midway .. very creative and inspiring

this is a wonderful write, I love the set up, the smaller font contrasting the larger font... It was a very intriguing and interesting piece...

I like how you made the font in the last line larger to drive the point home. The healthy balance is indeed crucial

Paul Boese said, "We come into this world head first and go out feet first; in between, it is all a matter of balance." You've captured this continuous struggle for balance beautifully. Very well done!

If only balance were as easily captured as we first perceive it to be. It truly is the challenge, and personally, I know that I have swayed frequently between the two like a pendulum.

There is a fine line between the two here.....and one must be careful not to be one's own worst critic. I liked this a lot. Very wise words. Lydi**

Life is a double edged sword, some days it prods you other days it cuts. I like the duality of this piece.

Take the course of life as it is. Destiny leads. Good write :)
