The Great Flood

The Great Flood

A Poem by Jarett Anderson

The devotion of the chosen

Has set the story in motion

Time is frozen

As an ocean of emotion

Floods over mortal notion

What I’m after

Is to capture each chapter

And trap her in rapture

Of tears and laughter

There is no escape to this fate

No mistake to this state

So liberate and embrace

The feelings in place

The taste of soul mates

It’s the dawning of a new age

The story is engaged

With each turning of the page

We’ll evolve and change

Into a spirit with no cage

So, come with me

And break free

From conditioned mortality

And see through reality

With the eyes of clarity
