Autumn's SamsaraA Poem by LukasI can't write poetry for the life of me, so this is pretty much my poor attempt at verse. It probably doesn't make any sense at all, nor will it have any depth, meaning, or poetic valour. My 'inspiration', if you will, is not personal, but derived out of
Ten leaves of autumn fall silently
to the ground.
No more, no less,
simply ten small leaves of gentle
crimson and golden sun.
But that
crimson—
oh how wonderful a
crimson of fading October can be,
as the nocturnal sun falls away
into the endless horizon.
And behind that veil of stars and
wind
those ten leaves will blow
and dance across carpets of black,
a light against the sombre tapestry
that unveils the chaos of being
and the shadows of truth.
For those ten leaves,
no more, and
no less,
are the sun, the moon, and
those oh so many stars that hide
in waiting behind that imposing
ball of flame and life.
When those leaves mingle with
the taciturn sweetness of that
autumnal night,
Lustitia’s scale is
even in the mirror of nature’s truth;
each leaf a year,
of life into blood,
falling into darkness,
behind that
mysterious veil of black,
and night.
Oh, those evil flowers of evil,
that budded at your stem, and
flowered at the tip of your
verdure,
now rot while your
rubicund life falls victim to the
whims of earth,
like light upon
everlasting gloom.
I will miss you.
