King of the free

King of the free

A Poem by nathan
"

Finally I've been given the words to describe the castle.

"
Abandon ye all hope, abandon ye all fear;
Abandon ye sweetest truth, for the ones you hold dear.
Tear down your sacred castle, stone by corrupted stone;
To rid yourself of pestilence, venture forth to whence it's grown!

Cast aside your crown of gold, wear instead the one of thorns,
Drop your halo of deceit, and show the world your bloody horns!
Kill the feeble slave inside, become a mighty king of the free,
Henceforth thou dost not serve, that wretched tyrant me!

Abandon ye false desire, lucid dreams of worldly wealth;
The punishment for your virtue, shall be knowledge of thyself.
Have you envy for the wise?  Have you come to love thy hate?
Pitiful plaything of the gods, accept now worthless fate!

And cast aside the gift of fire, Become a noble, holy slave!
Let your soul transcend higher, Return to your beloved cave.
Freedom from the beast of choice, the sweetest form of liberty;
Submit to the one true god, that one true god called We!

  NO!

On your left is love's great shield, your right an iron sword;
Rise from the shadows with, the will of a titan lord!
Shed yourself of shame and doubt, and face the Winter's icy breeze;
Hear the wisdom of the winds, amongst the Mother's ancient Trees!

Cast aside your crown of man, and take up Nature's rose and thorn!
Kill the king of proud, proud lies, show the world you've been reborn!
Take that frightened slave inside, teach him what it means to be!
Together you might overthrow, this cunning tyrant we!

About
I just started writing poetry at the end of last year as an outlet, I'm here to document my stuff for myself. I hope to carry Zappa's attitude about it... "I don't give a f*** if they remember me" more..
