Patience Prayer

Patience Prayer

A Poem by nathan
"

A mantra I try too keep close the front of my mind

"
O Lord I pray, that patience may,
Guard the heart within my chest,
When fury roars, or passion soars,
It shall be calm that brings me rest.

To understand with a gentle hand,
And always listen before I speak.
To hear the call to love them all,
It is my fear that makes me weak.

O lord I pray that patience may,
Be my un-forsaken guest.
In times of pain and great disdain,
It may remind that I am blessed-

With gift of choice, and power of voice,
The sacred pact of truth to speak,
By glorious light of wondrous night,
It is my pride that makes me weak.

O Lord I pray, that patience may,
Help us keep the higher path
For if God gave me, love and mercy,
Then He also gave me wrath.

The beast within, is not my sin,
But sentinel of family,
So if a man shall live, then a man shall give,
Dominion to: the sacred three.

About
I just started writing poetry at the end of last year as an outlet, I'm here to document my stuff for myself. I hope to carry Zappa's attitude about it... "I don't give a f*** if they remember me" more..
