The new day arose,
I stood and froze, Backing back down to the gates of hell, The devil laughed and misery set sail, Bon Voyage, I'm on the ship, The ship headed for nowhere, Direction is dead, I jumped, I fell, I fled, Into the deepest of trenches, My body was buried, With my soul beneath it, Nothing but food for the worms, Squirming into what used to be solid, Holes consume my fragile shield, I become a mere shell, with No principles upheld, My ugly face hidden by a sheer veil A veil that so deceives me, Deceives me and the world, I am left shoulder to shoulder with the unknown, Destined to become anotherenslaved clone, Shallow, Brainwashed, Defenseless, Just where am I to rest? Nothing is covered; Nothing is protected, Evil has been resurrected, So here's the fork in the road, Take your pick to which sorry zone, So as you walk through the dirt, Being graced by the hurt, Grow used to the weary knees; Bruised and cut, And Let your tears touch the cold midnight sky, And as you lye your lifeless body into the same trench as I, Know in your heart and mind that this was where we were meant to die.
