Dream Date

i guess you can call this a free-style poem type paragraph thing. enjoy my little bookworm dream date that i only fantasize of ever coming true.

"

Barnes and Noble. Two venti shaken sweet teas. A really good book in one hand. And in the other, his hand. The smell of brand new books and coffee.Small talk about books. One deep conversation, but most of the date is silent. Both of us in a different world (the literary world). I look up at him at the end of a chapter. He was already staring at me. I wonder for how long. I let a laugh come out of my ruby red lips. He joins me. We are laughing for no reason in particular. Without saying a word we return to our books. The sun starts to set. He picks up all of the trash off the table before I get a chance to. Then taking my hand once again leads me out the door. The sunset is so beautiful and it is a perfect 77 degrees. The pathway is surrounded by huge trees that are just beginning to change colors. We talk about happy things, our favorite things. We laugh. I mostly keep my eyes on how beautiful the sky is tonight. But when I look over at him, he’s staring right back at me. We smile. And he leans in and kisses me on the cheek. The sun has gone down. My feet are hurting because I am wearing wedges. I don't complain. But somehow he finds out, picks me up, and carries me. We laugh the whole way there. He sets me down when we get near the truck. In one hand he holds my shoes in the other he holds mine. Some of the ride we talk and laugh. But most of the ride we have the radio cranked and we are both singing on the top of our lungs with the windows rolled down. When we arrive at my house, he gets out of the car to come around and open my door. We walk as slow as possible to the doorstep. Ending this perfect night we hug for a good minute. He kisses my forehead. He starts to walk back to his truck. He looks back at me twice before getting into his truck. I go inside with the biggest, girliest smile on my face. After showering and getting into my pjs I take out my book to read some more. In it I find a napkin that says “I think you’re beautiful.” he’s done it again I think to myself as an even bigger smile sneaks onto my lips. I thank God for him ten times and end the night in my bible. Reminding myself who my true love is.
