Blue

Blue

A Poem by Natasha Austin

Having almost completely transformed
The soft ripples and waves
Are an indigo bridge between below and above
Between the frail and the divine
An azure veil between the secular and the sacred
Between the unholy and the holy

Limitless cerulean skies urge the creatures below to conform
So that communion is complete

The sand is warm and soft,
Wheat colored
Reluctantly absorbing sapphire from the sky
No choice but to be a mirror of infinity
Slowly losing the fight to remain yellow-brown

Such a powerful color, envoking powerful emotion
Strong as iron, while graceful as flame
What can withstand it when it aims to change?

I believe eternity is the color of sky
And immortality is royal
