touch

touch

A Poem by Deepshikha

touch
darken your eyes
behind a veil of blossoms
merely glance to the fire above
feel the warmth
as it whispers your name
it asks for none other
but you must not
set yourself aflame
speak to it
with only a guiding hand
hint at its secrets
but hold them in your heart
your lips
they will part
but not to leave kisses
your heart
it will quicken
only to be stopped
touch
the petals shower
you with a radiance so bright
the warmth is enough
to linger you watch
behind darkened eyes
under a veil of blossoms
it is fitting that you dance alone
it is fitting that you are untouched
