She's Not Perfect

She's Not Perfect

A Poem by Deepshikha
"

a strange little free verse I cannot describe.

"

I've been drowning in sorrow

have you ever seen such nonsense?
well, no, I never have.
have you ever seen such snobbishness?
yes, but only in her.

look at her walking walking walking
and look at how she holds her head
look at her smile, her dirty dirty smile
and look at her horrible horrible mess

oh, she's sooo perfect and wonderful and stuff
no, I'm not just blinded by jealousy
I don't hate her cause she's all that
I hate her cause she really isn't

just watch how her smile breaks when they look away
just notice how she looks at her feet every time she walks

she's not perfect
she's not perfect
SHE'S NOT PERFECT

though SHE ISN'T PERFECT
this hate is totally worth it.

have you ever given her a chance?
yeah, I tried and she hurt me
have you ever tried to see it from her eyes?
if I had, we wouldn't be here.

chasing tomorrow, running away
