FlyingA Poem by DeepshikhaMy first attempt at a Keats Sonnet.
I perched on a ledge overlooking the earth
the only light from the moon, slivery-white I looked toward the Gods and knew it was time for I could not resist, a beckoning rebirth the clouds had much allure, such graceful might no answer from the Gods, so what could I do? my gut, it wrenched, as my wavering heart chimed felt the rush of danger surround my rebirth so I jumped off the edge, leap't into the night faster and faster in the darkness I climbed the earth, swirling 'neath me, an airy typhoon my stomach swooped and right with a great thunder-flash I took my new form, soaring under the moon airborn, mettled, liberated, wing'ed at last © 2011 DeepshikhaAuthor's Note
