Waltz in Black and WhiteA Poem by DeepshikhaI waltz in a sea of black and of white, an eternal waltz in supine moonlight.I waltz in a sea of black and of white; As I have
done from morn’ to noon’s past -- An eternal waltz in supine moonlight
Those keys have always been there, hands in sight; And the
dance has never left me for last -- I waltz in a sea of black and of white
They forced me the keys when I had no might; Now black is
to comfort; white haunts my past -- An eternal waltz in supine moonlight
When I waltz with them I feel as a kite; Keys to my
soul, they have held me steadfast -- I waltz in a sea of black and of white
Eighty-eight keys, and never were they trite; They grew to my heart; for them lilies passed -- An eternal waltz in supine moonlight
Those bold eighty-eight, power infinite; They are of
my skin, and never recast -- I waltz in a sea of black and of white; An eternal waltz in supine moonlight. © 2011 DeepshikhaAuthor's Note
