![]() For Whom Will I Wait?A Poem by Deepshikha
I sit at a bus stop at the crossroads of my heart
And there I wait for a journey that may not start The sun rises and sets as I wait for her to show She who will mend me, and with whom I will go I cannot leave, for what if she comes past? Then I will wander, and I know I will not last She is my soul and mind, my psyche and help She takes my hand while loving me as herself Flowers bloom around me, and soon they wilt and die Ivy creeps across my eyes, but I give naught a sigh The buses come and go, and still she is not here Dusty skin, forsook by Death, yet I have no fear I wait for her as blue stars rise, littering my sight Tantalized with dreams untold, but I'm waiting for her light I will not move and I will stay, though she will come late Because if not for her, then for whom will I wait?
