Lost in desire, she asked the Divine
And on her crown she laid wreaths of petals She moved along, upon the feet of swine At the summit, she began her trials Whereupon she might conquer petty minds (For glory!) she weathered; ran for miles Then Sweet Power fell (look how it spellbinds!) She grasped for it, fighting desperate souls And she ravened Power, down to the rinds Pride shriveled her mind; she was draped in stoles Forsook by the Divine, He helped no more Hubris her name; her hands blackened as coals Falling from the summit, she tried to soar Though inured life cannot fly as nothing Left to herself, alone; outraged in lore Now she wallows, naked, pale, and wailing Wanting that back, and waiting for something Her crown withers, her soiled hair frizzing She sought once to be the queen of something But now she's nothing, the Queen of Nothing. © 2010 DeepshikhaAuthor's Note
