All I Want Is A Rainy Gray

All I Want Is A Rainy Gray

A Poem by Deepshikha
"

I'm trapped in this. This sweetness. It's killing me.

"
Trapped in this bright world,
Faded where I'm sown,
I'm going up, up, up,
when all I need is down.

You told me it would be deadly,
They told me it would be insane.
I've lost track of time now,
Traveling in this perfect lane.

Roses and sweets and sugar,
They blind my sight.
I can't find the darkest truth,
All I see drowns in this light.

These children don't cry,
They know no other emotion.
Happy tears, sickening smiles,
I'm on my knees, drowning in this ocean.

I need an escape,
I'm clawing this perfect ground,
Nothing is fair; this is too easy,
And my horror has no sound.

Endless, peaceful, sunny blue skies,
when all I want is a rainy gray.
This isn't life, this is my hell,
Oh Lord, can't you hear me pray?

The strongest point of this poem, for me, was the imagery. I could see the distress.
As for the flow of the poem, I don't know if an emotional poem like this needs a real flow. The emotions are tumultuous so it is acceptable that the phrasing would be too. :)

I enjoyed it! :)

Though it is a bit staccato-ed.

I really like this. This is "in praise of melancholy." This is really my school of thought. It all makes sense to me. Awesome!
