Something New

I'd like to make something different, a fresh start... But can I?

I'd like to make something new.
Something different; out of the blue.
It would be spicy, fresh, and invigorating,
As well as crisp, tasty, and emancipating.

Maybe a poem, certainly a trick,
Something to build up and up; brick by brick.
It wouldn't crumble, nor would it be faked,
It'd stand forever, like it had just been baked.

A little bit of me would go in there,
A smile, a look, a kiss, maybe a hair.
And I'd mix it with a guilty pleasure,
My happiness you could not measure.

It wouldn't be at all mediocre,
No laughs, it wouldn't be a joker.
(Unless I decided so, then laughs would plop!)
Either way, it wouldn't be any old flop!

It'd be a new beginning, a new start,
I'd write such a story straight from my heart!
And someday I know that it will surely come,
For when it does, I'll shine brighter than the sun.
