Dream's LullabyA Poem by DeepshikhaA mother sings to her child, sweet nothings of a mythical land, a sweet and haunting song.
Sleep, my babe, as I steal you away,
Come with me now, to another fray; To a place where trees sing, and fairies dance in rings, And the law holds no sway. Hold on tight as I take you afar, Cradled in blankets woven of stars; The goblins might chase us, the winds just might break us; Hush, you'll come to no harm. Ride on the edge of a dragon's wings, The mighty beasts, listen to them sing; Their hearts burn so fiercely, So hug them cautiously, And they might crown you king. Soar the skies, o'er mountains so great, Embrace your lonely, your honest fate; The siren's song, seas call, watch your step or you'll fall; Come with me past the gate. Sleep, my babe, as I steal you away, Come with me now, to another fray; To a land that you'll love, for there's nowhere above, And the law holds no sway. © 2010 DeepshikhaAuthor's Note
