Lucas CarmichaelA Chapter by DeepshikhaThe Boy sits...a moment of hard earned respite.
Lucas Carmichael was skipping class. At the moment, he was in his SUV, relaxing at the back of the school parking lot. Smoke swirled around him, and the radio blared at full volume. His badly needed moment of relaxation had been hard to find. Along with keeping his grades up, the task his step-father (or Markaél as he privately called him) had given him threatened to take over his life completely. Markaél spoke of it as if it were a choice between life or death.
Perhaps it was, Luke mused, hitting the power button on the radio. But enough was enough. He had to take control of his life again or he really would chose death. If Markaél kept it up, Luke was sure he would snap completely. © 2010 DeepshikhaAuthor's Note
