I Am Lost And Fallen In You

I Am Lost And Fallen In You

A Poem by Deepshikha
"

...and yet I will stay forever, by your side.

"

Inside the beast,

A lover sang

Mindless songs of

Loathe and fear.

On his heart

Sat loveless kisses

That once had

Almost been dear.

Nothing that I

Did could stop his song

For to him, the

Apathy stood clear.

Lust swam far,

Love lay lost,

Except in his soul, he had

Naught but a tear.

In me he confided

Never would he care.

Yet for me he would try

Over the people’s jeer.

[But…]

Underneath it all, swam perfect love.

i really like this piece. i enjoy the complex simplicity of it. it's quite lovely - your ability to play on words and make them mean something else and exactly what they are.

my favorite line:
"On his heart
Sat loveless kisses
That once had
Almost been dear"
