Ad Memoram

Ad Memoram

A Poem by Deepshikha
"

I wrote this for my WordPower! class at school. It was for the memory of the people that died in 9/11 [and still is!], but after the second line...well...it took a whole 'nother meaning.

"

Trepidation. Anxiety. Horror. Dread.

Mourning for the loss of what has not been said.

Sacrifice. Suicide. Heaven and Hell.

What is this plague that makes us unwell?

Is it greed, gluttony, fear, or ambition?

Or is it humanity; their redemption a failing mission?

Can they not learn to live in peace, once and for all?

Or shall we forever continue to fall?

I think you described the horror quite well... vivid and raw, the whole mood here powerful and deep.

Well done and expressed!

One comment: "of that which has not been said" goes on a little long for the rest of the poem ^_^
