Sunset

Sunset

A Poem by Deepshikha
"

Inspired by a picture I found.

"

Vivid colors,

Paint the sky.

A magical canvas,

Right from the mind of God.

Bold reds,

Bright oranges,

And deep yellows.

A moment short lived,

A minute hard to capture.

The air burns with the last light,

Sparkling like golden dust.

I doubt Einstein could've cpatured it,

For all his genius.

I doubt Warhol could've pictured it,

Even with his crazy pop mind.

And I doubt I could ever capture it.

The sun,

As it sets over dark hills,

A faint line of yellow,

Where the 'Great Egg' hits the sky.

Surrounding the sun,

A bright orange,

Fading into,

A deep,

Blood red.

The warmth ends there,

As Ra goes out.

A brilliant purple,

Jetting from the red.

Which fades deeper,

And deeper.

Higher,

And higher.

'Till it's a black,

Surrounded by Lady Selene,

And the all-seing stars.

One of the most breath taking sights,

Anyone could see,

But who could give justice to,

THAT?
