Heated Meeting

Heated Meeting

A Chapter by Deepshikha
"

This is 16 years later...A lot has happened, and the young A'polon has fallen in love with her tutor, and he with her. But fate does not want them together...Not quite yet.

"

I moved cautiously through the forest, using Third Sight to look around and make sure no one was following me. I continued on for a few minutes, light scantly pouring in because of the thick canopy overhead. The ancient trees loomed over me and when I looked up, I saw nothing but leaves and patches of green sunlight. I had the feeling that I was being watched, so I gingerly strung my bow and held it down, ready to shoot. I crept in to a tall, but wide crevice in one of the ancient trunks and squeezed myself against it.

"Mygnar, Aera," said a thick, heavy, but yet sweet voice in front of me. I lifted my bow and shot it to where the voice was coming from.
"You'll have to be much faster than that," came the reply to my arrow. "If you ever want to catch me."
I slung my bow back onto my shoulder, drew out my diamond and ruby encrusted sword and stepped out of the crevice in the tree that so unsuccessfully tried to conceal me. I held my sword in a defensive stance and felt a cold finger stoke my cheek.
"It doesn't have be this way," the voice gently in my ear, but it still gave me goosebumps. "I-"
I spun around to the voice was coming from before he could finish and pulled my sword straight through the invisible figure to the side of me.
My attack had not killed the being, but had forced him to show himself. He appeared before me, his dark cloak billowing in the slight breeze that was blowing through the wood. His sharp, yet gentle features gazed upon me with contempt and exasperation. But his eyes told a different story. They invited me in, expressing love and a soul, something an A'polon does not have. We held each other's gazes much longer than was proper.

"Eros. Wha-" but he cut me off and kissed me square on the lips. As much as I wanted to stand there and kiss a A'polon Shadow, I pushed away from him and turned my back on him. "Eros, you are such a god damn fuckhead!" I said, trying to hide the sorrow in my voice with irritation. I turned around, momentarily seeing hurt on his face, and glared him straight in the eye.
"I'm sorry, you royal b***h. I'll do it properly now." he sneered and bent low, in mock of the way that commoners were to do when meeting a member of the Royal Influence. He titled his head up and glared, trying to get through the protection spell in my eyes.
"You," I said, resentfully. "You are a nothing but a common Shadow, and that is all you will ever be."
"So?" he said, with equal hate and resent. "I, at least am not a stuck-up, half blood!"

"HALF BLOOD?" I yelled, true anger building up. "How f*****g dare you!" I drew my sword out and he did likewise.
As we circled each other, not breaking eye contact, Eros said, "It is common knowledge that you are a b*****d. Your mother? A pathetic, but beautiful Goddess. And your father? The great Emperor Aeros." All the love and soulfulness in his eyes had gone and was replaced by a darkness and longing of a fight.
"You are mistaken!" I roared, infuriated. "I am no daughter of a Goddess, but of the gorgeous demon Leyana. Wife to my father and the only mother I've known!" I lunged forward, my sword almost cutting his side. He lunged back at me and this continued on for almost an hour.
I soon began to get tired and let down my guard a bit. He was nowhere to be seen and my Third Sight was getting fuzzy, so I stood there and slowly drew my sword back in. As soon as I had done that I felt a pain, a very sharp and distinct one near my stomach. I screamed and collapsed to the ground.
