~Troubled Mornings~ (Chapter One)

A Chapter by Deepshikha
"

Not much to say...Hmmm... *thinks*

"

I woke up staring at the celling and listening to the annoying sound of my clock ticking. My curtains were pulled back, casting a huge stream of light to fall onto me. I threw back the thick covers and sat up, thoughts streaming through my head. I rubbed my calves, which were still sore from the intense training Neji and I had gone through yesterday with our uncle, Khoru. All this for a stupid 'vendetta,' as my brother liked to call it.
I stood up and walked over to the. There was not a cloud to be seen in the sky and not a person seemed to be inside. My stomach growled. Time for breakfast.
I threw open my door and slid into the bathroom. I brushed my already pearly teeth cleaning/whitening formula and jumped into the shower. After successfully steaming up the bathroom so that it was hard to see, I slipped on sweats and headed downstairs, slipping my slightly wavy hair into a pony.
I met my mom in the kitchen, who was whipping up some of her breakfast noodles for us.
"Morning, mom' I said, grabbing some OJ from the fridge.
"Morning, Aika," she said, not looking up from the stirring she was doing.
I walked over to the island breakfast table. Neji was already there, drinking a glass of god-knows-what.
"Ew," I said, eying the brown glop with the blue specks in it.
"You should try some," he said, swallowing some of that stuff. "It's great for strength."
"Yeah," I replied, sarcasm dripping from my voice. "Maybe, just maybe, I'll also marry Naruto and have 27 kids."
"That's not your destiny," re retorted, somewhat mournfully.
"So you want me to marry my crazy partner in crime?"
"Maybe," he said, with no emotion and finished his glop.
Before I could say anything, mom appeared with two steaming bowls. "Eat up," she said, cheerfully, setting down the bowls in front of us. "Goodness knows how much you two train. It's unhealthy."
"Mom," I said, glaring at Neji. "Maybe I wouldn't if destiny boy here didn't drag me along everywhere he trains."
"Drag you along? You choose to come with me. I for one would rather marry Hinata than actually ask you to come training with me."
"Hinata is an amazing person! Do not speak ill of her." Yes, I loved Hina. She was like the sister I never had, even if she was from the main house, and I from the branch.
"If amazing you mean weak."
"Neji, Aika, stop," my mom shouted. "I don't care whether you choose to go or are forced to, I only want some peace in this house!"
I glared at Neji. "I agree. If only destiny boy-"
"Aika," my mom growled. "I mean you too. Now eat. I don't want a word out of either of you."
So we ate. I had five bowls of the noodles, and Neji only two.
That was our life.
How cheerful.
I envied those who had normal families.
